Not limited to headphones / headsets, the name of Bluetooth devices cannot be changed in principle. However, some Apple products, such as AirPods, can be changed to any name.

When pairing a Bluetooth device on iPhone, you can read the device name recorded in EEPROM, etc., on the device and register it with the iPhone. The form of "manufacturer name + model name" is common, such as "model name by manufacturer name", which is named at the discretion of the equipment manufacturer.

However, iPhone cannot change the Bluetooth device name. Read the information on the hardware when pairing, and then log in directly to the Bluetooth device screen. Many Android devices can change the Bluetooth device name based on user rights after pairing, but iPhone does not allow it.

The exception is an Apple Bluetooth device, such as AirPods. After pairing, it will automatically generate a string in the form of "00 Air Pods" (00 is the user's name), log in to the Bluetooth device screen, and then change it to any string.

For an Apple Bluetooth device that can change its name, make sure the device is connected to the iPhone, and then open the screen in the order of Settings Bluetooth target Bluetooth device. The name bar then appears at the top of the screen, so you can click it to edit the name.
