James One's blockbuster horror series "Death Spirit Museum" latest work "Death Spirit Museum If it's the devil's fault, it's not guilty. Blu-ray & DVD was released on February 2nd.

It is a work with the theme of an unprecedented trial that was actually held in the United States in the 1980s, "I want you to be acquitted because you were obsessed with the devil and killed a person." The psychic researchers who lead the series, Warren and his wife, challenge the devil's proof, saying, "If you admit the existence of God, you should also admit the existence of the devil."

Natsune Kawaguchi of ≠ ME, who has enjoyed psychic phenomenon horror movies with her family from an early age, talked about this thrilling work. (Machiko Nakagawa)

--- "The Conjuring: If it's the devil's fault, I'm not guilty. How was it?

Natsune Kawaguchi (hereinafter referred to as Kawaguchi): It was the middle work of my liking. I like the fact that it has a story, but it's scary. Also, despite being horror, there are also elements of mystery, and I was excited to see the mystery gradually unraveling. The hints stretched in the early stages will be collected in the second half! It was spectacular. In fact, I've already watched it three times. I revisited the preview, the theater, and before this interview. The first look is a series of surprises. The second time I knew the conclusion, so I was able to notice the hints I overlooked in the first time, and the third time I focused on the details as an acoustic and visual work. Next time, I would like to focus on camera work.

--- People from various positions appear in this work, but did you empathize with a particular character?

Kawaguchi: I'm the type of person who doesn't easily empathize with the characters in the story, so I look at them objectively. However, Arnie, who has been possessed by the devil, is not only suffering from the devil, but also feels sorry for being sentenced to an unbelievably heavy sentence.

--Are there any scenes that left the most impression on you?

Kawaguchi: At the beginning, the scene with bright music was impressive. I was surprised at the gap between the very scary scene and the music. I never choose the music, so that sense is amazing. Also, it's the waterbed scene that appeared in the trailer! I watched it in the trailer, so I was scared even if I thought I knew it.

--- You're good at shooting to create fear. "The Conjuring: If it's the devil's fault, I'm not guilty. Is over when you see "Anabel" or "IT / It THE END" it ". It's a work of a production studio called New Line Cinema that took the picture. Both were good horror movies.

Kawaguchi: Actually, when you see "IT / It THE END" it ", it's over. I also love it. I like the Pennywise character. The unique movements, the way of speaking, and the devilishness of God are cute. I like the background of the times, and I also like the aspect of a youth movie in which children work together to fight Pennywise. I like movies with people working hard in groups.

--Director James One is also involved in the production of "Aquaman" and "Fast & Furious SKY MISSION".

Kawaguchi: Director James Wan also watches the "Insidious" series and "Light / Off". I haven't seen the "Saw" series, which is one of his masterpieces, but I plan to take this opportunity to watch it from the first one.

--- If you like "IT" and are also interested in "Saw", it seems that you like not only psychic phenomena but also works that include radical expressions. Did you also see James Wan's latest film, "Malignant Ferocious Nightmare"?

Kawaguchi: Yes! "Malignant Ferocious Nightmare" was also my favorite type of work, waiting for the foreshadowing of the angry waves in the second half. I wonder if I can make new discoveries by watching it repeatedly. Actually, I have only watched it once, but I have to watch it again.
