There are several patterns in the mechanism where multi -legged robots walk. The Link Mechanism (or They -Yangsen Organization) is used in Theo Yansen's masterpiece, Strand Beast. This was made with only 100 ingredients.I think the comical movement will make the viewer smiling.
The materials are as follows.
Let's introduce the production process.
First, cut the bamboo chopsticks into an appropriate length, glue with a glue gun and make the upper part of the brim to put a pill.
Use a compass cutter to cut out the tile mat and cardboard to make one pulley.
Glue a straw on one side of the lower part of the tie, and two short spots on the other side.Pass the end of the axis attached to the pulley through the straw and put the opposite edge between the short chopsticks.
If you leave it as it is, the shaft on the side of the hush will be lowered, but the pulley axis will be kept horizontally because it connects the pulley and pill -removing motor shaft with a rubber band. Not using both bearings as a straw is to make it easier to replace the rubber band.Glue long chopsticks and the lower part of the yagura is completed.
When drilling a large hole, it is easy to use a punch.Of course, this punch is also 100 uniforms. However, the punch may be broken, so it is a good idea to prepare it only for the work.
The small hole is opened with a pin vise.
You will need 10 parts per leg.Make this 12 legs.It is a very lonely task to do it alone.
Part of the legs (B, D, G, and I) has a fixed angle for two parts, so the parts are glued on the diagram of Theo Yangsen legs.
Glue into a large hole through a straw.Glue the straw and a wooden stick, cut the extra end of the straw, and remove the stick (bamboo chopsticks).
This stick is for passing the straw through a wooden stick hole, bonding them, and making it easier to cut the end of the extra straw.
Connect parts with small holes with a toothpick and mini straw.Make this 12 legs.
Create two pairs of cranks with parts to connect to the legs (see about 1 minute 57 seconds for production videos).
Connect the crank and legs with a toothpick.
Attach a bundle of legs to the crank.
Cut the mini straw short, fasten the toothpick, and cut the excess toothpick.
Glue the body and the crank with a glue gun.
If you put a pillatter and connect the pulley and the motor of the pillar with a rubber band, you will be completed!
Check the operation after completion. The smooth legs of Theo Yanssen mechanism have been reproduced.Previously, I was struggling to make my legs with bamboo chopsticks, but this time I was able to finish it compactly by using wooden sticks and toothpicks.
I thought it was lonely with one, so I made two.
It is a good view.
I have tried the strand beast several times so far, but I couldn't support the weight or the legs hit each other, so I couldn't make it as I wanted. After trial and error, using a wooden stick was dramatically stable.
This time, the legs made with a wooden stick were shaken, and the legs hit each other, but it was solved by bonding the straw through the stick hole. The straw is great.
There are 12 legs, so it takes a lot of time, but considering that it can be made with familiar materials, it doesn't feel very difficult. Why don't you try it?
In addition, if 6 legs are controlled with different motors on the left and right, I think that you will be able to move as you want like a radio control.I would like to challenge this soon.
Then, the third one is around here.Next time we look forward to!
