Amazfit PowerBuds Pro comes with 4 sizes of translucent earplugs, USB-A – USB-C cable for charging, Japanese in the charging case and earphone body. A manual is included. For the author who uses the L size ear tips for AirPods Pro, the LL size was a perfect fit for both the left and right. The surface of the charging case has a smooth finish like frosted glass. Feeling of wearing and operability

Various settings such as noise canceling, sound quality, and health care functions can be operated from the dedicated application "Zepp". My first impression of playing music with the Amazfit PowerBuds Pro was "The bass sounds powerful". On the other hand, when listening to content such as podcasts, I sometimes felt that a male voice would sound too heavy. Selecting "Vocal" out of the 10 types of presets available in the equalizer function of the "Zepp" app made it easier to hear people's voices. Spatial audio such as Apple Music is available by setting "Music" > "Dolby Atmos" to "Always On" in the iPhone's "Settings" app. In addition, I tried a voice call with a mobile phone line, LINE phone, FaceTime, but I was able to hear the other party's voice clearly, and the other party could hear this voice well.

Adaptive mode is universal for noise canceling

There are 4 modes for active noise canceling: "Adaptive", "Travel", "Exercise" and "Indoor". When listening to a comparison, "Travel" strongly eliminates the frequencies of vehicle noise, "Exercise" moderately acts to make it easier to hear the surrounding sounds, and "Indoors" suppresses the frequencies of air conditioners and people's voices. There was an impression that it was aimed and erased. In my case, I use the "adaptive" mode almost all the time because the natural noise canceling works in the "adaptive" mode. If you press and hold the earphones to enter the external sound capture mode, you can actively capture external sounds, so you can talk even with the earphones in your ears.

If the Amazfit PowerBuds Pro detects that you have been in the same posture for more than 40 minutes, it will automatically play music and encourage you to relax. After running, it displays data such as a map of the route you ran, mileage and heart rate fluctuation. There is also a function that plays periodic sounds like a metronome to assist you in maintaining a stable running pace. In my case, I usually don't do any type of exercise, but this motivated me to continue light jogging. A little disappointing is that the running distance and heart rate are announced by voice, but it is a pity that it was difficult to hear because the English was read aloud in Japanese mode. I would like to expect that future updates will support natural Japanese voices.

Comparison with AirPods Pro

I compared the Amazfit PowerBuds Pro with the AirPods Pro that I use on a daily basis. The battery duration and other information are all information posted on the official website, and are the maximum time when noise canceling is enabled. In my impression, there was no big difference in fit when wearing. When comparing the sound quality with the equalizer off, the difference between the Amazfit PowerBuds Pro, which has a powerful bass sound, and the natural AirPods Pro, was clear. Also, I felt that the time from connecting to the paired iPhone to starting playback was faster with the Amazfit PowerBuds Pro. I compared noise canceling indoors, in a train station, in a subway car, on a busy road, etc., but I didn't feel a big difference between Amazfit PowerBuds Pro and AirPods Pro.
