Seven-Eleven Japan (Tokyo / President Fumihiko Nagamatsu) is looking ahead to the enforcement of the revised Aviation Law within 2022, and will conduct a demonstration experiment of product delivery by drone (small unmanned aerial vehicle) in manned areas from December 3 to 19. conduct. This is a demonstration to implement a system in which products ordered via "Seven-Eleven Net Convenience Store" are loaded into a drone at a store and delivered to a designated receiving place by an unmanned drone.
This demonstration experiment was adopted in the "Project for Building Business Models for Logistics Services Using Drones" in Tokyo, and the projects include Seven-Eleven Japan, ANA Holdings, and ACSL, a drone specialist manufacturer (in any case). Also in Tokyo), a total of three companies are participating.
Luggage delivery by drone was realized only in remote islands, mountainous areas, and depopulated areas due to the establishment of a system for non-visual flight (level 3) in unmanned areas in 2018. Non-visual flight refers to the flight of the aircraft beyond the operator's visual range. In addition, the revised Aviation Law, which will come into force in 2010, will allow registered drones to fly out of sight (level 4) in manned areas. The purpose of this demonstration experiment is to look at it and explore the issues and conditions of drone delivery services in the city.
The demonstration will be held in Hinode-cho (population about 17,000) in the western part of the Tama area of Tokyo, and there are actual orders from "Seven-Eleven Hinode Oguno" to the four delivery points in Hinode-cho. Deliver the goods by drone. The user orders the products handled by the Hinode Oguno store from "Seven-Eleven Net Convenience Store", and it is convenient among the four delivery points (Hinode Danchi No. 2 Park, Hinode Danchi No. 3 Park, Liver Village, Oguno Hospital). Select and specify a point. A drone loaded with products flies from the departure / arrival area in the parking lot toward the delivery point, and after landing at the delivery point, the luggage is automatically separated and flies away. The user who was waiting at the delivery point confirms the package addressed to him by the address etc. and receives it.
It is possible to deliver up to 5 kg per package, and if it exceeds, it can be delivered separately. The demonstration experiment will be conducted with two drones, and the package will arrive at the delivery point in as little as 30 minutes from the order. The minimum order amount at the time of the demonstration experiment is 300 yen, and the shipping fee is 110 yen. The service will be provided from 9:00 to 16:00.
